Wee! My DIY on HGTV.com!

I love looking at DIY's and have bookmarked, downloaded and printed several projects. But alas, I realized that I am just not that patient, I am bad at following directions and yes, I am not as creative as the floods of super DIY'ers and bloggers that hits the web every day. So, when, HGTV.com  {slide 3} contacted me to make a budget-friendly headboard & featured my DIY, I'm definitely flabbergasted. Wee! And thanks so much to Chris for taking these fabulous photos in such short notice {and for obliging to take a photo of me trying to look smart}.

It started by stalking Craigslist for somebody who can make me a wood cutout, leftover chalkboard paint and primer paint, dustless chalk {yes, they exist!} and a vintage silhouette {source} I've adored for a long time. Thanks again HGTV...maybe I'll brave the DIY world with more confidence again soon!

Hi,

I love love love this headboard and wold love to do it for our King size bed and of course add the silhouette of the hubby too. I'm just wondering do you think the cut out shape would work for a king size just as well as a single bed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
